Ideal location for those wanting to get away from it all. The cottage was well equipped and at a high standard. There is no mobile phone signal whilst at the site or in the immediate surrounding areas so you really are left alone. Ideal if taking a complete break from work and normal life, its like stepping back in time before mobile phones.

If you're looking for a peaceful, pretty location with outstanding accommodation and a friendly welcome, I would certainly recommend Exmoor Gate Lodges very highly. Plenty to do within easy reach in almost every direction and the local pubs are of a very high standard. The only failing I can think of is the lack of phone signal but for me, that was a blessing rather than a curse!

Fantastic for a weekend away with no disturbances from work! (No phone signal! :)) Hot tub was a great addition. A car is a must have as you really are away from any hustle and bustle (views fantastic) Drive isn't too long to local shops etc. down country lanes. Owners are always happy to give directions and advice.

A lovely, exceptionally clean lodge with the added bonus of a hot tub. This is a good base as it is in a peaceful setting, but not far from the surrounding attractions. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners who are continually trying to improve on a very pleasant site. Overall, very satisfied and hopefully we will be back soon!

A perfect location for exploring Exmoor and a very peaceful spot. Great walking from the lodge, a lovely pub is 10 minutes walk away, and the local town has all you need (5 minutes drive)! We would visit again.

This is a small and friendly site with excellent accommodation - remote if you're looking for a quite break away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to many tourist attractions if that's what you're looking for. The hot tub was an enjoyable and relaxing addition. The excellent Village Pub and its food we highly recommend.

A very peaceful location and the running stream beside the lodges is very theraputic. Despite the remoteness the TV picture is very good and the accommodation was warm - especially upstairs.

We had never stayed in a Hoseasons park before and found Exmoor Gate Lodges on the website. We were looking for a cheap break and found this site had a special offer. The lodges looked very nice from the website. The location was what we wanted because we were looking for accommodation in Somerset and close to Taunton. It is a very secluded and quiet area, but is a straight forward 20 to 30 minute drive to Taunton, the local village Wiveliscombe was only a 5 minute drive where they had a small Co-op, fish and chip shop, Chinese and Indian restaurants. Just down the road from Exmoor Gate Lodges was the Rock Inn, a very friendly and typically rural pub providing fantastic food using local produce. The lodges were very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. There is no bar or restaurant on site, but we didn't want that anyway. The lodges provide good accommodation for all ages, but I think it is great for a couple just wanting to get away from it all together. We definitely recommend having a lodge with a private hot tub. I spent a lot more time in the hot tub than I expected and we could see and hear various wildlife in the woodland right next to the lodges.
The owners Diane and Gary were very helpful and friendly and it seemed nothing would be too much trouble for them. We would definitely stay at Exmoor Gate again and highly recommend it.

Park is set in a very nice quiet relaxing location. The area is great for dogs and the sightseeing was amazing, staff at the park where very welcoming and nice. The lodge was fantastic and cosy. I would definitely recommend this lodge to anyone as we will be booking to go back again next year with others.

The hot tub was fantastic! There's also an indoor playroom for the under 5's which was great, as well as a little gym and pool table for the adults. The owners were really lovely and offered a great service.

Lovely lodge, home from home! Everything you could need. Plenty of room for 2 adults with 2 teenage sons and 2 dogs. Great location peaceful and tranquil, gym, sauna and games room with lots of books for those who need a little extra to do. Lots of great days out from a great location.

I would recommend this park as it is lovely, relaxing and I couldn't have asked for a better place. The best thing of all was the hot tub - I had never been in one and is so relaxing. I dont think you can improve anything!

We stayed at Withypool Lodge at Exmoor Gate Lodges for 2 weeks in May - The Lodge and Park were beautiful, very well equipped and the family that owned it were very friendly, left us to it but made it clear anything we needed they would provide. The lodge was very clean and beautiful (we didnt need to bring with us half the stuff we did as everything was there). The hot tub was a favourite of all of us - so relaxing. Our ages ranged from 6 to 52 and we found plenty of days out to enjoy. Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge are a must to see. The Local Pub the Rock Inn were very friendly and excellent Food. We will definitely be going back and recommending to our friends.

The Lodge and surroundings where absolutely stunning in a gorgeous setting, the lodge had everything you could want for the perfect holiday and the Hot Tub was a must! The owners Diane and Gary where extremely helpfull and always on hand to answer questions or offer advice.

The owners were very friendly and comments in the guest book were very complimentary to them, although we ourselves did not have any additional input. The hot tub was an amazing facility to have and at a very reasonable price. As well as this, we would recommend this as a place to stay and re-visit because of its superb location, peaceful surroundings and brilliant local pub food!

This place was really beautiful and peaceful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were there during the heavy snowfall which made the scenery magical.

This is a perfect holiday location for anyone who wants to completely relax and unwind. Our lodge had a hot tub which was amazing. There is a pub approx a mile away which is obviously a good one as was fully booked on a Sunday night so unfortunately we missed out but there are two other pubs in the nearby village which serve great food. Definitely worth a visit if you like hot tubs, walking and quiet.

Idyllic location for relaxing or exploring Exmoor. Hot tub is a wonderful extra and soon becomes part of your daily must do list. Lots of good pubs in the area to eat at, one within easy walking distance. An absolute must for dog owners, lots of wonderful walks. We will definitely book again.

I stayed at Exmoor Gate Lodge, if you are looking for peace and quite this is the place to go. Its a relaxing home from home with the added bonus of a hot tub. Exmoor gate lodge is the perfect base to enjoy the stunning scenery around the national park also to venture further afield to Lynton ,Lynmouth, and all around Somerset and Devon. The owners are really friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. I will definatly be going back.

This holiday is great for families and is very pet friendly. The owners are friendly and helpful but leave you to enjoy the facilities without fuss. We have stayed twice with our teenage children and they actually enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as us. If you want real family time to relax the accommodation is just like home and is not at all cramped. In the evening my husband and I ate outside on the veranda with a glass of wine whilst the children watched TV. We all had a great time and were so chilled out we didn't want to come home.

We've just come back from a week at Exmoor Lodges and loved it!! We went as 2 couples with a 18 month old and found there was loads to do for all of us! The lodges are comfortable and really nice, the location is wonderful and the hot tub's perfect! The fact that there's a walkable pub is great and it's great that there's beautiful countryside as well as beaches in the vicinity! The couple that run the place can't do enough for you and do a cracking job! All 5 of us loved the "games room", my niece loved the kiddy bit and we loved the fact that we could watch the footy on sky, play table tennis or pool and also use the gym!!
We all had a brilliant time, we've stayed in other Hoseasons lodges before together and we'd definitely look at returning to Exmoor Gate, thank you Diane and Garry for a perfect start to the new year!

Everything you need for a totally chilled out experience. The accommodation was clean throughout, fully equipped and the hot tub was fantastic even on a chilly evening.
