We would recommend the site for the peace and quiet but warn people of the long and winding road to the site, approximately 15 miles to the nearest town which took about 40 mins.

We normally go abroad for our family holidays (+ dog), but this year we decided to stay in the UK. Our holiday in Scotland was brilliant, the site was very peaceful and the whole holiday was very relaxing. We stayed in a Tima lodge which had everything we needed and more! The lady that runs the site is very friendly and helpful. Local walks were great and we visited may of the local landmarks. I would definitely recommend Bowhill - it was very cheap to get in and provided lots of things to see and do, with some excellent walks. This holiday has definitely wetted our appetite for Scotland and we intend returning next year. Who needs Spain now!!

Perfect for getting away before the Christmas chaos. Beautiful well kept park, very friendly. Excellent well equipped log cabin, more than enough space for the whole family,(2 adults 3 kids)!!! I would recommend this park to anyone wishing to unwind and take it easy. Beautiful countryside and plenty of walks, we can`t wait to return in the new year.
A place to get away from it all, great scenery, excellent for walking, helpful staff.
Ideal location to get away from everything, no mobile phone reception.
A perfect setting for a quiet retreat. Log cabin was fantastic, as were the staff on site. Nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended.
Perfect holiday in perfect cabin in perfect location.
We had a very comfortable stay in one of the lodges, I could live in one of them! The site was very quiet with great access to the forests and hills round about. I suggest taking plenty of food with you as the nearest town is 20 miles away. This was our first holiday in Scotland and was made more enjoyable due to our accommodation.
This holiday was a pure 'get away'. Setting was tranquil with beautiful views. The caravan was clean with everything needed included. Ideal for dog walking and bike rides which is how we spent our time. Also only an hours drive into Edinburgh which made a great day out.
This is a great location for walkers, with and without dogs!!
Very peaceful and quiet, good accommodation in lodges. Would recommend it to anyone who likes a relaxing and quiet holiday.
An excellent location and the lodges are amazing - a real home from home. I have already recommended it to 3 families who were very keen after seeing my holiday snaps, including the photos of the lodge itself. The caretakers on the park were so helpful and cheery, they do a grand job!!!! It was lovely to be able to take the pets with us too!!!!
If you want to relax and enjoy the countryside this is the place for you.The Tima Lodge was absolutely perfect, loads of space with 3 children.
Lovely scenery and great for walking and cycling. It's a great place to get away from it all.
Very relaxing break and very nice and clean log cabin we all had a great break thanks.
Very peaceful location, with easy access to Selkirk and other surrounding areas in the Scottish Borders. Would be great for cyclists and walkers.
This park is so wonderfully quiet - no mobile phone coverage at all!! Although at least 12 miles from the nearest shop & 10 from the nearest pub this little piece of heaven on earth is set in the most beautiful scenery and touring is a must to see all the area has to offer. It is probably better suited to adults rather than children.
If you are looking to get away from it all with total seclusion and peace, then this is the holiday for you! No mobile phone or internet connection, 18 miles from the nearest town which is Selkirk a lovely small borders town. There is very little traffic passing, Angecroft in the Etterick valley is just peace and quiet very relaxing.

This was a quiet site, very isolated and reached by narrow roads, but there was very little traffic. The countryside is scenic, mostly through managed forestry land, and there are a variety of walks to suit most abilities. As we visited in October, the trees were changing colour and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. We visited the pretty small towns of Moffat, Selkirk, Hawick, Galashiels and Jedburgh, all less than an hour's easy drive. There is a small shop on site selling basic grocery items and bread and newspapers can be ordered for each day. The caravan had heating throughout and was very cosy. The site is home to a large number of rabbits and many small birds, which we enjoyed watching. A good site for people looking for peace and quiet.
This is an ideal holiday park for those who love walking, photography,or visiting places of historical interest. Hidden away in the Scottish borders, the surrounding countryside is magnificent. Don't miss a visit to Saint Mary's loch, or the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall. Melrose, Selkirk, Hawick and Moffat are all interesting towns well worth a visit. Autumn is a good time to visit when the countryside is covered in yellows browns and golden coats of colour. The park is clean and tidy and the staff are great. I'll be back.!
Angecroft Park was excellent, really quiet and peaceful, and we really enjoyed our week there. All the surrounding towns of Selkirk, Galashiels and Hawick are within an easy 20-30min drive with plenty to do. Although there is no phone signal this didn't bother us as it added to the peace of the holiday. The log cabin was lovely, very spacious and homely, very clean and the staff on site were very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend this park to everyone.
This is an very peaceful and picturesque park, and very good if you like walking and exploring small villages.
Perfect place to chill away from all the pressures of home life.
If you like to get away from it all and see some great wildlife and scenery then Angecroft Park is the place. But it is only an hour and a half away from the great city of Edinburgh (by car that is).
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the very well appointed log cabin. We were made to feel very welcome and the accommodation was lovely and homely.
I would recommend Angecroft Holiday Park to all my family & friends. The staff were very friendly & enormously helpful, lending us board games & kitchen equipment, nothing was too much trouble for them. I am seriously considering booking my holiday there again.

I'd love to recommend this holiday to others but too many people would know about it then. Keep it quiet and we can have it for ourselves!
If you want to get away from it all then this is ideal, no phone signal for 20 miles - peace and quiet and plenty of wildlife to view.
Beautiful scenery, excellent accommodation and overall a very relaxing experience.
We all had a fantastic time. If like ourselves rural, stillness and a very scenic location is what your looking for on holiday this would be perfect. The caravan was very clean and had lots of room which was also perfect as we have two very large dogs! The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and kept a good stock in their small shop.
Peace and quiet in the most beautiful settings.
I'd recommend this park for the peace and quiet. Although it was only 22 miles from Hawick the roads were really bad and you have to be aware of sheep and cattle. The staff very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Just take all your provisions - small shop with basics.
Lovely lodges, immaculately clean and well kept in a beautiful location made for a perfect family break!
Yes we would recommend this holiday park, the surrounding area was lovely. A bit out of the way but that is what we wanted.
this site is ideal for people wanting a very quiet holiday, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Take everything you need with you as the nearest town is a good half hour drive on very minor roads. An excellent holiday.
The caravan park is very quiet & peaceful with very stunning scenery, walkers & cyclists will enjoy the surrounding countryside. We enjoyed the peace all weekend long.
This was the most quiet and peaceful park. The accommodation was excellent & I can honestly say that this was the warmest & best equipped caravan we have ever stayed in.

Just returned from a wonderful few days in what I can only describe as “my little slice of heaven”. If you want connectivity to the electronic world, if you want facilities and things to entertain, then this is not the place to be, if you want scenery, scenic walks and drives, peace and quiet and perfect dark nights then it is heaven. We stayed in a static caravan which was lovely, modern, well looked after and easy to live in, a modern gas fire to keep off the cold nights and blown air heating in the bedroom to take off the chill. The beds were made up for us and they had left sachets of tea, coffee and milk for us to use. Dogs are accepted in the caravans, in fact we saw a lot of people with dogs on site both rented and owner caravans (we did take covers for the seats but that was our choice and not a requirement). This site is really remote though, down single lane roads (with passing places) which are frequented by big double trailered timber wagons but don’t let that put you off, everyone (drivers of cars and wagons) was very courteous and as long as you don’t drive like an idiot you will be fine. Rides out to the local towns provide such scenic routes with the most fantastic scenery and with free roaming sheep in a lot of cases so drive with this in mind. We were unlucky that the road to the nearest town was closed and the diversion was a long way round (but that was just our bad luck and wouldn’t affect most other weeks as it was only for that week) it didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the time away though, it just meant we saw more scenery than we had anticipated, admittedly we did ignore the road closed signs for quite a while and luckily we did because it meant we found Alemoor Loch which we might not have found otherwise, a brilliant place for the dogs to run and swim and so quiet. Hawick, Selkirk and Moffat were all nice places, we didn’t have any more days left so couldn’t try any other places, we will do them on our next visit (we will be returning). The site wardens were lovely and so helpful, parts of the site looked a bit dilapidated in places (few pitches empty and some really old “owner” caravans about, others were well looked after, it really was a mix) but this was away from where the caravan we were in was so it didn’t really make any difference to us. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday site for anyone looking for peace and tranquility away from it all.
This is an excellent park with very friendly owners. It is very peaceful and full of birdlife and walks from the site with wonderful countryside to explore.
We love this park and have just enjoyed our third holiday here. There is so much to do in the area and it's superbly relaxing. If you love walking/cycling/wildlife and peace and quiet, this is the place for you! We even had a chaffinch hop into our van on our last morning. Although a car allows you to explore further afield, you could easily pass a week simply exploring the forests and hills around you without getting bored. The little shop on site sells everything you need and the owners are really helpful and friendly. They genuinely want you to have a good time and do everything they can to make sure you do!
Very peaceful site for those who just want to chill out and relax, lovely scenery.
A great location and very well equipped lodges.
We enjoyed it so much we booked up for next year only a few days after returning home, the park is in a peaceful and relaxing location with plenty to see only a short drive alway, we didn't want to come home!
A great place for walking and fishing, take most of your supplies and some good books for a very relaxing time.
The accommodation was excellent!
A very quiet and freindly site.
This site was a great break away from everything, and in a really lovely setting. I hadn't realised how lovely the Scottish Borders are. The kids enjoyed playing with other children on the site and we had some great day trips out. You have to be willing to drive for at least 30 minutes to get to different places, but it was worth it to be in such a nice location.
A site with fantastic views and very remote. If you want peace and quiet along with lots of potential for long walks, this is the place to visit.
Took the chance of booking this holiday in the Ettrick Valley and wasn't disappointed with the beautiful scenery. The reason we booked was so we could take our dog with us who had a great time with the lovely walks round about.
A fantastic location for peace and quiet.
Very nice place, very quiet and great if you want a peaceful time away from it all.
A great place for getting away from it all and as a base to further explore the area - our two labradors loved it too!
This is the place for a peaceful, quiet and relaxing holiday with no stress and being at peace with nature. There are no improvements necessary as far as we are concerned, we wanted a quiet and peaceful holiday with no stress and thats what we got!
We would recommend this park to anyone wants to escape from a hectic busy lifestyle. No mobile phone signal but that equals no distractions and no interuptions.
The park was remote as we had hoped, it was spotlessly clean and the park owners went out of their way to be helpful. I would reccommend it and intend to visit again with the family.
The park is in a very peaceful location which is perfect for a break from stresses of city life.
I would recommend this park to anyone who is looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.

Very peaceful location. Make sure you have all your provisions as the nearest shops are a good half hours drive away.

Recommend it to anyone who wants peace and quiet. Southern Uplands as good as the Lake District but without the commercial tourist attractions, crowds and traffic.

Relaxing, peaceful, dog friendly and an ideal walking base.
This park is ideal for walkers!

The holiday park is well situated for exploring very peaceful countryside and if you want to get away from it all, this is an ideal spot. Lodges are very clean and well furnished to a high standard with full privacy. Although remote, it is very easy to get to the border towns and then return to a very tranquil and peaceful setting. Highly recommended and really it was what I was looking for.

We had an excellent time away and cannot fault the accommodation and staff. The site was peaceful and relaxing and was situated within beautiful scenery and we have booked to go back in December!
The quiet and serene atmosphere combined with the scenery and wildlife made for an excellent break. Also the range of walks and cycling opportunities are superb and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is also excellent. The local towns of Selkirk, Hawick and Galashiels, whilst being around 40 minutes drive away are well served with shops and entertainment, as well as museums, country parks and leisure pursuits. All in all a perfect family holiday!
Peace and tranquillity, country area, nice scenery. Good spacious and warm accommodation.
Great area with good scenery ideal for walkers and anglers but with several border towns within 40 minutes drive. Car essential.
Very secluded site. A car is essential but the setting was perfect for a get away from it all holiday.
If you like the peace and quiet of a place this is the park to go to. It is in the middle of nowhere with great views.
The ideal site to get right away from the rat race and just enjoy the peace and beauty of the surrounding area. Definitely need a car though!!
This was a brilliant site if you want peace and quiet and just want to chill out.
The site was very quiet and well run. The area is beautiful with easy access to mountain bike courses and good walks. Although the site is remote the managers of the site provided all basic requirments in the little site shop. The accommodation was excellent and very clean. The managers and staff were friendly and most helpful.
If you are looking for peace, quiet and lots of outdoors time this is ideal.
I could not fault either the location or the standard of accommodation. Excellent dog walking is very close by and you have a lovely, warm, well equipped cabin to come back to which is great in the colder months. I would like to go back again.

Extremely remote and very peaceful and tranquil.
