More Info |
Set amidst rolling hills in unspoilt countryside, La Palombière justly deserves its coveted 4 ‘red tent’ Michelin rating. This site is highly rated by our customers, with lovely old farm buildings converted to house a basic shop with bar and restaurant. The pretty bar terrace with its elegant sandstone balustrading overlooks the swimming pool area, waterslides, tennis court, and spacious play area. Most of our accommodation is on large pitches and shaded by mature oak trees. Sarlat is a medieval market town with cobbled streets that has more cultural heritage listed buildings per square metre than any other town in Europe. During the summer the town stages open-air concerts in the main square. You can swim in the Dordogne near Sarlat or enjoy one of the canoe excursions from the campsite. Further afield is La Roque-Gageac perched beneath a cliff on the River Dordogne.

A friendly, tidy and natural family camp site with excellent facilities. The grounds are not that big and have a feeling of intimacy. The swimming pool is attractively built with a separate shallow pool for young swimmers and there are water slides. All around this is a spacious terrace with sun loungers for sunbathing and parasols if you prefer shade. There is plenty of space for children to play and they will be sure to meet others of their own age at the playground which has trampolines. Canoe trips on the river are organised from the camp site. Also recommended: spectacular trips by quad bike around the area. Don't miss out on a visit to the lovely small beaches by the river, the town of Belvès, Castelnaud Castle and the world famous caves at Lascaux.
