| If you are looking for a really relaxing camping holiday in Germany, Lackenhäuser camp site in Bavaria is the place, also in the autumn and winter months. And not just for its beautiful location in southern Germany, but also the region around Passau on the Danube and the start of the Bohemian Woods that continue deep into the Czech Republic. This means endless forests where you can walk for miles without meeting anyone. But there are plenty of facilities for indulging body and mind at Lackenhäuser camp site. There is a masseur, an indoor (heated) swimming pool, sauna, solarium, spa baths and a practice for naturopathy. In winter this is wonderful place for downhill or cross country skiing in the pure mountain air of the Bavarian Forest. The grounds are not called a 'camping park' without reason; you will camp in a real parkland setting. This is also a wonderful area in winter for walking and relaxing.
