A lakeside campsite by the Compiègne Forest. Ideal as a holiday destination, for a short break to Disneyland® Resort Paris, or as an stop over en-route to the south of France. Set beside a meandering river and within walking distance of Vic-sur-Aisne, the attractively landscaped parkland has tall poplar trees and weeping willows. The old stone farm buildings which house the restaurant and bar have been tastefully converted and the terrace overlooks the swimming pool, which now features indoor waterslides and covered pool. In addition you can hire pedalos and canoes on the small campsite lake, two new lakes are available, one for swimming, the other for fishing. The site remains extremely popular amongst anglers. If you’re in need of some real pampering, don’t forget to book yourself into the fantastic on-site spa and beauty therapy centre. The site has also just added a new ‘pub’ complex with underground disco for teenagers. Walking, cycling and pony trekking in the nearby forest are popular family outings. Compiègne, the Royal Palace of Louis XIV is well worth a visit. Disneyland® Resort Paris and the centre of Paris are just over an hour and a half drive. The huge 12th century fairy tale castle dominates the village of Pierrefonds, thirteen and a half miles away.

On the banks of the River Seine, ideal for visiting Disneyland® Resort Paris or discovering Paris. Camping International is set in a residential suburb of Maisons Laffitte in north-west Paris. An ideal base to explore Paris, the site is within walking distance of the local train station, which takes just twenty minutes to reach the city centre and will also take you directly to Disneyland® Resort Paris. The facilities are quite basic but include a shop, bar and snack-bar. You are also within walking distance of Maisons Laffitte where you will find several good restaurants, a supermarket, local shops and a sports complex. Barges and trains can be heard on-site. The spectacular palace of Versailles, dating back to 1653 is only 20 minutes drive away and not to be missed. Paris can easily be explored using the Metro system. Visit the art collections in the Louvre and the futuristic Pompidou centre, or enjoy the formal gardens of the Tuileries before exploring Montmartre. To the west of Paris is Louis XIV’s spectacular palace at Versailles. You can also climb the Arc de Triomphe, stroll down the Champs Elysées and have dinner in one of the many bistros in the Latin Quarter.

It’s so restful here that you’ll love simply strolling through the flowering shrubs and the apple trees that hark back to its historic use as an orchard. You’ll find spacious grassy pitches leading down to the large tree-ringed lake, ideal for fishing. Although this is a marvellous rural base, Disneyland® Resort Paris is just 45 minutes away and the excellent Parc Asterix is also within easy reach. And at the end of a busy day, you’ll find that this small, wonderfully tranquil parc is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine while you plan for tomorrow’s adventures.
