Saint Avit Loisirs, is set in beautiful woodland with fabulous views of the Dordogne countryside. The facilities include a swimming pool complex, tropical-style indoor pool, crazy river and jacuzzi. The sports facilities are outstanding and the buildings are of beautiful honey-coloured stone where you’ll find a shop, bar with a large terrace overlooking the pool and a restaurant serving local specialities. Six kilometres away is the busy town of Le Bugue. Canoeing is an excellent way of exploring the river and gorges and many organised excursions are available in this area. Visits to the medieval town of Sarlat with its colourful markets and cobbled streets, or the castle at Beynac-et-Cazenac which is perched on a sheer cliff, are a must. The region is rich in pre-history, with both Les Eyzies de Tayac and the National Museum of Prehistory being close by.

Beyond the beautifully restored watermill that welcomes you at the entrance, you’ll find a parc of welcome contrasts. On the one hand, it’s a verdant, rural parc with large grassy pitches set amidst the dappled shade of walnut, oak and apple trees. The facilities on the other hand are very modern, including a fabulous pool complex with three slides, covered pool, impeccable wash blocks and an excellent take-away and restaurant with wonderful plats du jour! The owners also organise activities in high season, which include popular canoe trips. This is the real heart of the Dordogne too, with rolling wooded hillsides, sleepy, honey-coloured villages, crumbling old farmhouses and castles galore to discover.

This first class parc promises you a warm welcome and quite excellent amenities. Especially good for walkers, with plenty of attractions nearby. Les Grottes de Roffy has long been a firm favourite with Eurocamp customers. An excellent three pool complex is the parc’s centrepiece and the facilities here are good all round, with tennis as well as a children’s play area. There is also a charming and reasonably priced restaurant which is so good it’s even enjoyed by the locals, despite the presence of many first rate alternatives nearby. Pitches here are on a series of terraces, some with views over the idyllic countryside that surrounds the parc and the rural setting also offers many delightful walks amongst the patchwork woods and fields.

An outstanding parc with excellent amenities and a friendly family atmosphere. With excellent canoeing too, it’s a Eurocamp favourite. All credit for the excellence of this parc is due to the wonderful Dutch owners. Their warmth and friendliness is legendary among Eurocamp families, who return time and again to Le Paradis. The superb facilities include two large swimming pools, all surrounded by attractive trees, flowering shrubs and tennis courts. However, the parc’s focal point is the lovely little courtyard with its popular bar and restaurant. In high season, an ‘animateur’ arranges a variety of sports events, ‘soirées’, weekly discos in the bar and daily canoe or kayak trips on the River Vézère, which flows right past the parc. That’s the beauty of Le Paradis, it is set amidst France’s loveliest countryside, close to the meandering rivers of the Dordogne.

Lying on the banks of the gently flowing Dordogne, Soleil Plage enjoys a superb setting that is perfect for a family holiday. It has two small beaches, both situated on one of the loveliest stretches of the river, which are favourite spots for both swimming and canoeing. The parc itself offers you an excellent pool complex, with waterslides for the children and a Jacuzzi for you to laze in. And at the end of the day, you’ll find that the excellent restaurant, which is just one of the amenities housed in converted Périgordin farm buildings, makes for a wonderfull evening. You are also perfectly situated for visiting the famous sights here. Sarlat is only a short drive from the parc and the beautiful riverside towns of La Roque-Gageac and Beynac are both accessible by road or river!.

At Le Grand Dague camp site you will experience a holiday in the real authentic Dordogne. A small part of this lovely 22 hectare estate is reserved for camping. The rest of this natural terrain is also at your disposal so you can always be certain of finding a quiet spot! The centre point of the camp site is the swimming pool with a lovely water slide and a separate toddlers' pool. This is adjacent to the attractive former farmhouse in true Périgord style which now serves as a reception and restaurant. Children can amuse themselves in the playground, the minigolf course and the playing field. There is also a lovely children's farm with animals. The surrounding area is just as nice. The camp site is surrounded by natural woodland. Atur is located in the Dordogne-Périgord in the so-called Périgord Blanc. You can visit the imposing castle with English landscaping in Hautefort. In Le Bugue you can look round a cave and the attractive town of Périgueux, capital of Périgord and Bergerac close by on the Dordogne. You can swim on hot days in the lakes at Vergt and St. Paul. The world famous caves at Lascaux with their prehistoric wall paintings are no longer open to the public, but you can visit the excellent reconstruction Lascaux II in Montignac. This typical French region 500 km south of Paris is famous for its culture, art and gastronomy. And of course for the unsurpassed scenery. Also recommended in this area: the caves at Proumeyssac, also known as 'the crystal cathedral' on account of its beautiful stalactites and crystals.
