| On the shores of the beautiful Lac de la Selves, an impressive campsite in beautiful unspoilt countryside.
Under new ownership, Les Tours is set on steep terraces on the shores of Lac de la Selves, between the Auvergne and Lot valleys. It has a relaxing atmosphere, and lovely views from many pitches. Grassy slopes edge the shores of the lake, where you can sunbathe or hire a pedalo or canoe. The main facilities, including bar and restaurant, overlook the lake and the site boasts a lazy river. The site is four miles from St Amans-des-Cots.
Close by are the stunning Truyère gorges and a number of reservoirs created from damming the river, which allow watersports and fishing. Espalion is steeped in history with its old 13th century red sandstone bridge for pedestrians and a small renaissance château. The pretty village of Estaing is half an hour’s drive away.

| A lovely campsite with a superb swimming pool complex, an ideal base for exploring the region.
Set in the foothills of the stunning Cévennes mountains, this site is an oasis of trees, tropical plants and flowers, however, pride of place must go to the beautifully designed swimming pool complex, with its terraced pool and children’s pool with unusual bridge. Traditional farm buildings now house the shop and facilities, and there is a modern restaurant and bar. Family activities are organised by the campsite in high season. The site is one and a half miles from Allègre.
Vallon Pont d’Arc is the watersports centre of the Ardèche region and is twenty miles from Allègre. Canoeing down the Ardèche can be arranged nearby in high season or visit the many caves and grottoes along the plateau. Explore the extensive Roman remains in the city of Nîmes, less than an hour away or the Medieval town of Uzès with its old streets and herb market.

| Château de Grange Fort is in every sense of the word an unusual and very beautiful family camp site. If not just for its location! This camp site in the Auvergne is set on an old country estate around a 15th century castle on a hill. You can choose from natural marked out pitches or a field with unreserved camping. It will be hard to find a more beautiful spot in France! You can cool down in the castle's lovely swimming pool while younger guests splash around in a separate toddlers' pool. There is also a lovely heated indoor pool for the low season. There is also a sauna, an informal bar and a restaurant. You can go fishing, swimming or canoeing on the River Allier on the edge of the estate. But the area around Les Pradeaux is also spectacular by its breathtaking Auvergne landscape, a green oasis with sturdy castles and sleepy villages. |

| A camp site in the heart of the Auvergne, on the edge of Des Volcans nature park with the famous, green volcanoes which are so typical of this area. Camping Le Clos de Balanède is located in Châtel-Guyon, about 20 km north of Clermont-Ferrand and the smaller town of Riom. The level camping grounds have pleasantly shaded pitches and are very natural. There are three swimming pools on the camp site, including a shallow toddlers' pool. What is really nice for small children is that they can play not only in the water but in the playground or on the minigolf course. The Auvergne is a lovely area if you are looking for a relaxed holiday. This is the place to enjoy nature, with babbling brooks, small streams and lakes. One of the attractions in the area is the 1900 metre high Puy de Dôme, a green extinct volcano offering fantastic views. The Vulcania theme park, where you can find out all about volcanoes is fascinating and exciting. In Châtel-Guyon itself there is the Parc Ecureuil adventure park with obstacle courses in the woods suitable for children and adults. Great activities for sportive holidays are organised in the whole region around Puy de Dôme: canoeing, mountain biking, balloon trips, paintball, horse riding and much more. Clermont-Ferrand, a city with an attractive old centre is about twenty kilometres away. Also worth a visit is the old spa town of Vichy with the mineral water of the same name. The town still breathes the atmosphere of a luxury resort from around the turn of the last century with a covered wooden boulevard in the park around the therapeutic waters. The site is also suitable as a resting place on your way to the Côte d’Azur in the South of France, because from Châtel-Guyon you are soon on the motorway towards the south of the Auvergne. |
