With its lakeside setting and wooded backdrop, this parc really is ideal for outdoor activities. Ideally situated on the banks of a fabulous natural lake and surrounded by the wooded foothills of the Jura, Domaine de Chalain is a quite spectacular parc. It features a fantastic pool complex with waterslides, children’s pool, jacuzzi and heated indoor pool, not to mention a wide range of sporting activities, though some may not be available until July, when the parc can be quite lively. Eurocamp customers are entitled to free access to the pool according to a credit system for entry, please ask at time of booking. The adjoining lakeside beach is a great place to soak up the sun, but you can also fish, swim, or hire a pedalo or canoe. There are also many beautiful walks and gorgeous wine villages to be explored and the many attractions of Switzerland are within easy reach.

Set on the banks of a wonderful lake, this parc also enjoys superb walking country all around. Situated alongside the turquoise-green waters of the Lac de Chalain and awarded the prestigious La Clef Verte award, this steeply terraced parc has a friendly, family atmosphere with a range of well-maintained facilities. These include a superb pool complex with sunbathing area and a flower-decked bar/restaurant terrace. There’s also a lakeside beach where you can swim or canoe and the area is a walker’s paradise too, with rolling countryside and cascading waterfalls just waiting to be discovered. The Jura is a wonderful region for exploring: the Hérisson Waterfalls make for a spectacular day out, while the French Alps are also close by.

A superb Castels parc, featuring a fun waterpark and set next to a lake beach. Le Val de Bonnal enjoys a rural setting in the former estate of a chateau, and has a refined Country Club atmosphere. A river runs by the parc, popular for canoeing, and there are four large lakes within easy walking distance where you can swim, fish, hire pedalos and cycle. The lakeside beach is backed by large, grassy areas for sunbathing. The facilities are first-class, including a waterpark with waterslides and waterchute. The snack bar and reception are housed in traditional stone buildings.

Camping la Pergola is nestled in a land of lakes and mountains, forests and waterfalls. Set on the edge of a lake and surrounded by woodland hills, this family-run site has all the ingredients for an active holiday. Laze on the sandy lakeside beach, or canoe, sail, windsurf or take a pedalo out on the warm waters. The wide terrace that surrounds the two pools is a great place to unwind. Domaine de Chalain is a long-time Canvas favourite. This is a large and lively site, that is the ideal location for an active family holiday, beautifully set beside a lake of shimmering water with a backdrop of steep hills. There is a superb pool complex, with outdoor and indoor pools, waterslides (6yrs+ only), waterfalls, a sauna, rapids and a jacuzzi. There is also an excellent range of sporting facilities, complemented by a first-rate animation programme in high season. Lakeside, you will find all manner of watersports – hire a pedalo or canoe, or enjoy a cooling swim, before soaking up the sun on the shore. Keen fishermen can indulge in a spot of lake fishing from the banks of the adjacent lake.
