If you are looking for a really relaxing camping holiday in Germany, Lackenhäuser camp site in Bavaria is the place, also in the autumn and winter months. And not just for its beautiful location in southern Germany, but also the region around Passau on the Danube and the start of the Bohemian Woods that continue deep into the Czech Republic. This means endless forests where you can walk for miles without meeting anyone. But there are plenty of facilities for indulging body and mind at Lackenhäuser camp site. There is a masseur, an indoor (heated) swimming pool, sauna, solarium, spa baths and a practice for naturopathy. In winter this is wonderful place for downhill or cross country skiing in the pure mountain air of the Bavarian Forest. The grounds are not called a 'camping park' without reason; you will camp in a real parkland setting. This is also a wonderful area in winter for walking and relaxing. There is plenty to satisfy your appetite: there is a good restaurant with a Bavarian menu. In summer you can take a dip in the natural pool with lawns for sunbathing. There is a minigolf course, playground, skittle alley and beach volleyball for the children. They can also go pony riding under supervision. This lovely family camp site is located on the Waginger See lake on the approaches to the Alps and close to the Austrian border. You look out from the camp site over the romantic lake and the peaks of the Bavarian Alps. There is something for young and old at the camp site. The surroundings lend themselves to a real family holiday with a good balance between sport, culture and relaxation. Live it up in the camp site lido. There is a water slide and diving board and you can hire boats. You can also learn to surf at the surfing school. For sports enthusiasts there are opportunities for (table)tennis, archery, mountain biking, minigolf and beach volleyball There are various walking and cycle routes in the area. The camp site has a restaurant (that doubles in size for the high season!) and you do not need to leave the site to do your shopping. Your dog can go to the special dogs' school from 20 July to 22 August. Small children will enjoy themselves in the new indoor playground. The new recreation room with a dartboard and table football is also great fun!

Altmühltal camp site is located on the winding River Altmühl in Bavaria, a beautiful natural area around Ingolstadt and Regensburg in the eastern part of southern Germany. You can make lovely canoe trips right from the camp site, there is a small jetty where you can get into your canoe or boat. You can rent canoes and kayaks here or of course bring your own boat for the children. The site itself is a nice place for camping. The natural grounds comprise camping pitches between hedges with plenty of shade from the trees. There is a playground with lovely equipment for the children. The site also has a basic restaurant and camp shop. There is a swimming pool, minigolf, stables and a tennis court in the vicinity of the camp site.

Odenwald camp site, named after the extensive forests on the borders of Bavaria and Hessen, is the ideal place for those who love tranquillity and the countryside. You will camp here in the healthy forest air. Kirchzell is located in the more northerly and lower lying part of Bavaria, close to the border with Baden-Württemberg and Hessen. A very rural area that is thinly populated. The camp site is surrounded by wooded hills and is located on level grounds which has a very natural ambiance. There is a restaurant where you can go along for an excellent meal and there are good amenities such as a shop for your basic daily shopping and a baby room in the toilet buildings. And be sure to swim a few lengths in the indoor swimming pool! There are plenty of places for children to play: table tennis, playground and a field.

A camp site full of atmosphere in central Germany, situated on the River Main between Würzburg and Aschaffenburg. The site is located on the edge of the village of Triefenstein-Lengfurt on a large bend in the Main in the northern part of Bavaria, so not far from Hessen (Frankfurt) and Baden-Württemberg. One of the loveliest camp sites in the area with spacious pitches. The site is bordered on one side by beautiful deciduous woods and on the other side by the River Main 500 metres away. It is a well serviced family friendly camp site with lovely comfortable modern sanitary facilities. Several pitches have electricity and water. There are activities for the whole family. There are various sports fields, you can go kayaking on the Main, there is lovely cycling alongside the Main and you can go water skiing. There is a holiday club for children in high season and you will find a swimming pool next to the camp site (extra charges apply).
