Q. When should I include my site on the Gocaravanning.com directory?

A. The simple answer to this is now or as soon as possible. The reason for this is that it takes a little while for search engines to find all the pages on any site. As such the longer you are on Gocaravanning.com the more likely your feature page will be found.

Q. I have seen other sites charge between £50 & £200 per year for a listing, why do you charge less than £40 per year?

A. We want as many businesses to be included in our directories as possible. This has multiple benefits for all. The more sites included will mean that visitors will spend longer on our site and will come back time and time again. We also are looking for long term partnerships with campsites which is why we offer a £10 discount if you link back to us.

Q. Can I have a free listing?

A. No, we are sorry but we no longer offer free listings on the site. We believe that our paid for listings offer excellent value for money compared to may other sites. The free listings on the site will be phased out as the feedback from customers is that they want more than the basic information shown.

Q. Can I appear higher up in the directory?

A. Yes, paid for listings will always be higher than the free listings. Paid for listings are sorted randomly so that each campsite, caravan park will have the same chance of being at the top position in the directory. The storage directory is slightly different in that the storage sites are not shown randomly but in date order.

Q. How many visitors does Gocaravanning.com get?

A. Gocavanning.com gets in excess of 4,000 visitors a day at peak times. Over the last few years traffic has grown consistantly each year. Our positions on search engines shows that we are considered an important site for camping, caravanning and holiday park information.

Q. Can I make changes to my page once its set up?

A. Yes, you will be given a personal login so you can login to our admin system and make changes to your feature page. If you get stuck or don't want to do it, we will always be happy to do it for you.

Q. Can I have pictures on my page?

A. Absolutely YES - we would strongly encourage you to add the full 7 pictures to your feature page. We know that campers and caravanners really like pictures so that they can see what your site is like. This is the sole reason we allow you 7 pictures for each page.

Q. How can I pay?

A. You can pay using all major credit and debit cards. These are processed through Worldpay which is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland. As such your credit card details are totally safe (we don't even see them). We also accept paypal and cheques.

Q. How do I know how many people see my page?

A. Measuring the effectiveness of any internet advertising is always difficult unless you have the luxury of tracking facilities. You can also look at your website log files to see how many people have been referred from us. Asking customers who call where they saw it also possible but I expect the response was either your website or something on the internet.

We have tried to provide another method to help you judge our performance - at the bottom of each feature page we show the number of times the page has been shown. Its not perfect as people visiting the page more than once will be double counted. However, we think it should give you a good idea and much better than nothing.

Q. I run an affiliate programme, can we use that?

A. Absolutely, we welcome the opportunity to be paid by results. We know our site works and as such are more than happy to be paid on a per click, per application or sale basis. As long as you use a reputable affiliate scheme with independent tracking we would be happy to be part of it.

Q. Do I get a link included?

A. Yes, you can add an email address and website link. We don't tag email addresses or monitor them in anyway. In the past we have populated the subject line but found that most people just deleted it. If you want to measure how many emails you get we suggest you use a unique email address e.g. gocaravanning@yourcampsite.co.uk

Q. I offer Bed and Breakfasts and holilday cottages as well, can i advertise those?
